Fasting and praying

The Church Of Christ in Port Huron, Michigan, had fasted and prayed for me each Wednesday, taking up a collection of money they would have spent on food. I reflected on the correlation of my progress on those days in the hospital. I thought back to when I prayed for my friend Larry Smith after his brain surgery back in 2011 and how helpless I felt as he lay there in his hospital bed. My reflection came flooding back. He's doing well now and I'm sure it's because of prayer for those who attended to Larry’s every need.

I'm sure many of us can think about times we have prayed earnestly and prayer was answered in a way that was favorable. I’m sure there were times those prayers weren’t answered favorably at all. This brings our thoughts to, life isn’t fair and I get that. It certainly is a mystery.
